The significance of water filters on coffee machines

Lime scale damage is one of the prime reasons for expensive call-outs and repairs within the coffee machine industry and it is so easy to prevent.

Hard water is caused by levels of naturally occurring calcium and magnesium compounds and it is found in areas which have a chalk and limestone geology. This is a problem which affects a large area of the UK, mainly in central, eastern and southern parts of the country. If left untreated it will play havoc with your appliances, most of all coffee machines.

Water filters are added as standard by fully trained Caffeica engineers with all installations; however they will need to be changed from time to time. If left unchanged the lime scale will build up inside the machine and many unnecessary costly call-outs and repairs will need to take place to keep the coffee machine operational, not to mention the influence untreated hard water will have on the taste of your favourite coffee.

When faced with such a problem, we here at Caffeica go to the tried and tested Brita professional filter range, and because we know such a large part of the coffee making process involves water we strive to provide you with the best water filtration on the market.

The factors that will affect how often your water filter will need changing depends on your local water hardness, volume of water running through the machine and frequency of use.

Here at Caffeica we record these details to remind you when you require a new filter, then one of our professional coffee machine engineers will come and install a new filter to keep your machine in tip top condition and your coffee tasting great.

What our clients say

Spengler Coffee Machine
‘Our employees love the different options our Coffee Machine gives them and we love the fact that the machines are simple and easy to use. We would recommend both our machine and Caffeica as a company to anyone’

We recently had a new Spengler coffee machine and are very pleased that we changed from our old machine. This is versatile, easy to use with its touch screen controls and pictograms. We can customise the strength of the coffee and milk content. The canisters are larger, reducing the need to refill the machine as often. Caffeica have provided an excellent service we have found them both efficient and friendly to do business with.

‘It has been a real benefit having our machine (Cino XX) from Caffeica – staff appreciate the choice of drinks. The one machine copes with our number of staff (approx. 50) but when we increase in number, we will have no hesitation in getting an additional machine. The supply of ingredients is always swift and staff are always helpful. We would be happy to recommend Caffeica’.
